I did it two years in a row. I only received 2 offers. It allows you to post your board scores, publications, experience, interests and photo. You can even send your info to different programs. I did it for radiology which was extremely competetive. I cannot answer for other specialty types but it is a good concept.

There are many websites that list vacancies. For example www.apds.org, www.acog.org, and many more. In my experience, APDS is a lot better than findaresident.com for surgery & ob/gyn positions. The downside is that you need to check these sites several times a day because positions disappear quickly.
A very interesting site is www.ResidentSwap.org - it monitors all these scattered websites and send you alerts whenever new positions open. Plus, if you're in residency & looking to switch to a different specialty, they can find residents who want to swap with you. |
