Hi guys.. this site has been silent for sometime now. Let's bring it back to life again. Why don't we post if we started to get interviews and rejections already? I have applied 10 days ago.. and no response yet from any of the programs.. GL!

applied since Sept 2 and no responses (interviews/rejections) yet. Is it advisable to call the programs and ask for the status of application? There are some who advised me to do so but others say it's plain stupidity...when do we usually expect them to respond anyway?

Hello! I think if you haven't received anything yet... be optimistic that they are still evaluating your application.
I applied Sept.13... and I have received no interviews yet but around 5 rejections already... let's just hope and pray that we can get into a program! good luck to all of us and God Bless! |

I think it's a good idea to list information about programs we got rejections or interviews, For example i already got one rejection from St. Vincents hosp, Queens, Family Practice. (applied around sep. 19)

hi
Am getting panicky about getting any interviews at all.  Anyone here applied for peds? Any idea when they send out interview calls? I suppose if they start interviewing in nov. it should be soon. I've applied to around 15 programs mainly in the mid west and chicago. Should we be applying to more programs? Anyone have any idea about IMG friendly/ H1B sponsoring programs in peds?Hope someone out there has an answer!

 UT Southwestern Baylor University Dallas - advise ko lang, mukhang mayayabang talaga mga puti sa southern states. mukhang late na din yata ako naka apply (well compared to all of you guys). wala pa ba ditong nakakakuha ng interview?

Hello all,
I've applied to FP, IM, and Ped programs in the NJ/NY/PA area and have been able to obtain 10 interviews so far. I applied in the 3rd week of September and only after 2 days i started to recieve interviews AND rejections. Ofcourse I have more rejections than interviews. Anyhow...my scores are not the greatest....but this year I worked on making my application stronger by doing research and 2 externiships as I DID NOT MATCH LAST YEAR. Also, I got fresh recommendation letters as my old letters were almost 4 years old. Point being....improve any weaknesses you have and stay optimistic. The IMG friendly hospitals where i will be interviewing at are: St. Joesephs (peds) NJ St. Joesephs (IM) NJ Kingsbrook (IM) NY Montefior (FP) NY Harlem Hospital (IM) NY Nassau Univ. Hospital (IM) NY St. Joesphs (FP) NY Virtua (FP) NJ Brookdale (FP) NY SUNY buffalo (FP) NY (11/3/04) Great place!!!!! congrats karan! i wish i am as optimistic as you are... so far i have 3 interviews all in IM programs from new jersey, new york and arizona.. my credentials are not that good as well.. i would like to ask you how did you get a research job coz i need a job so badly to support my USMLE... im broke to the last penny...hope to hear again from you...

so far, i only have 2 interviews, and what does it mean if the secretary says that she will re-submit the appliction again? tons of rejections (about 12-14), cus my step 2 is a 2nd attempt. i want to apply to more programs, but dont know which has more chances of granting me an interview, low scores as well.

res2be.. dont lose hope...you'll get more interviews... how many programs did you apply? and when did you submit your application? i applied oct 5 to 50 programs and so far i got 10 interviews and 10 rejections... are you done with your cs?

hi spleno...i applied to a little under 40 programs. i dont know where to find the information about the hospitals, like if they are known to take students who are mediocre...i hope you understand what i mean. i applied in the 3rd week of september. congratulations on your interviews, wish you all the luck. i have gotten some secretaries to re submit the applications, i dont know what that means, if they are being polite for NO or if they are genuinely going to re submit it for re review??? it's tough for me to gauge their response, i'm wondering if you know??? thanks and good luck again

res2b, hi how are you? this may sound a bit discouraging but i dont think it will help a lot if you request the coordinators to re submit your application... in the first place, they have already reviewed your application when you first applied to their program... and there is less chance that they will reconsider it because there are a large number of applicants this year... there are a lot programs who consider IMG's with multiple attempts like kingbrook NY etc... if your funds would permit it apply to as many programs as you can... remember getting into residency is an investment... and your ROI is getting into the program...also you only need 1 interview to match.. just do your best and the rest will follow...goodlcuk!!
