hi spleno. i know, i wasn't demading that it be re reviewed. she said that it wasn't rejected, but put on hold, but SHE asked me if i would like to have it re submitted. so of course i said yes, and a couple of days later....i got an invite!! so, ya, maybe the move was wrong, but i got an interview!!

hey its nice to hear that you got another interview! im so happy for you! how many interviews have you got so far?? do good in your interviews and hopefully we can get into residency next year... goodluck on your CS too!!

hey spleno..thanks! i have so far 3 interviews, i already went for one of them...did well on 2/3 faculties. i have 2 more, one next week itself and another in january. how are things going with you? thanks, i'm trying to study hard for the cs

Hello Spleno and all...
More rejections but last week I did get an invite for Med-Peds at Newark Beth Isreal in NJ...so i'm excited about that. Spleno....sorry for the late reply...my research job was actually unpaid. So it was tough....but I got 3 great recommendation letters and also...made contacts with whom I ended up doing an UNPAID externship in IM and Peds. Financially it has been tough, but it was worth it. For everyone else...from experience...Kingsbrook (IM) in brooklyn ny is very IMG friendly. Interview here is 10 minutes of clinical questions. also SUNY Buffalo (FP)...they allow multiple attempts. Montefior medical center (FP) has 50% IMG residents with no minimum score or attempts requirement. I can be reached at kamm2@hotmail.com. Best wishes!!!! |

thanks karan for the reply... with God's help, i got 15 interviews now however i was able to schedule only 9 of them because of lack of funds....right now i have no job and my wife is supporting me in all my expenses... i would really want to find a research job so i would get a better chance of getting a good residency training if i wont be lucky this year....like most of the people here in the forum, i'm still waiting for the CS result and hopefully i could make it....it would be nice if you could refer a research job to me... hope i could get a response from you... tHanks a million!!!

Hello fellow IMG's.
Like everybody else I am still waiting for more invitations for interview, so far I have 2 invitations and 6 rejections (applied to Peds and IM). This is the first time I am going for interview (Dec 16 and 17) and have no experience whatsoever. Can anyone please give me some tips and advice on how I can prepare (coming from first hand experience)?: Thank you and good luck to everybody. |

hey guys...
i'm a little bummed out.  i appied to 80 programs, got 24 rejections and 2 interviews.!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about major stuff.. I dunno whats up.. but it is sure wearing me down. economically and emotionally. I'm gonna nail the heck out of those interviews, and i hope some more come before the match is over... but heck... you can't help but feel a bit desperate. Hang in there guys... and if anybody prays, do so for me. Thanks. |

Hi all! Its been a long while since I posted here, been busy w/ tough mental health patients and am a senior now. Just 2 cents from a future psychiatrist about the interviews:
- talk, and talk and smiling. Talk like you're manic, lol. It shows confidence which is the unwritten part of your resume and will likely get you a prematch or a good slot on the program's ROL. DOn't ask too many scripted questions, in fact if u can ask a nice personal question to your interviewer, it'll be remembered. Goodluck to all. |
