I received categorical surgery position (PGY3) in different state where I did 2-years preliminary surgery.
I recently passed step 3 in the state of Washingon. Although I passed step 1 and 2 in 1997, the medical board in WA allowed me to take step 3. Because they allow us to take step 3 ONLY ONCE even if we take either step 1 or step 2 more than 7 years ago. There are not many state medical boards allowing us to do so. Now I moved to other state. As you know, most state boards say we need to finish all steps within 7 years. My question is: Do I still have to retake step 1 and step 2 in order to obtain medical license in other states? Can I obtain new medical license based on medical license which was obtained from other states.
I would appreciate it if anyone can give me a sense.
Thanks in advance.
