This is truly a great site | ||

mr histamine,
i have been a member of this forum from the first time i've stumbled upon it, just less than 2 months ago when i was deep in interview season. though i wished i discovered this site earlier, it has been a great help to me not just on the info i have gathered but in the stuff i have shared as well. i think you'd agree that it helps alleviate one's anxiety one you're able to find similar people in your own situation and be able to share your thoughts, ideas and frustrations. like you, i regard myself a pinoy and i am proud to be such, even though occasionally i get backstabbed on account of being from another school or having an "accent". personal matters aside, i just wonder if anyone or probably you have thought of setting up a topic thread that has a pinoy heading where our kababayans are free to speak about personal matters in the native tongue. i've just brought this up now because of the recent postings that are rude, bashing and appearing to cause a divide among the members. honestly, i believe you've thought about it and have come to the decision that it would create more divisiveness than cohesion. so what am i babbling about? i got to tell you though, i do feel a lot better. and i think that's the whole point of it. |

am I the only one? | ||

HI Mr. Histamine,
I agree that this is a great website. It helped me a lot when I took my step 3 in 2002. I am aware that the biggest challenge of being an IMG is getting into a residency training, however, I sometimes wonder how we are faring when we are actually in one. Am I the only one who feels lost? Believe me, I don't think I have a particularly strong odor nor do I have a thick accent BTW, I am the only IMG in my program. Anybody interested?
