Is it worth taking Kaplan course for Step-3 |

Hi
I am planning to take Step-3 in two months. Just wondering if its worth taking Step-3 kaplan course(30 visits) or is it enough preparing with just kaplan notes and other notes and books? Pls let me know Thanks |

the kaplan step 3 is a big scam!!!! the videos are entertaining even for my mom and the qbook, cd, and qbank are full of errors....

I passed my step 3 with KAPLAN resources from CD to books. If you have the money to spend... go ahead and enroll in KAPLAN courses but you can still pass the exam even with just the kaplan CD and notes.
If Kaplan courses or resources are a scam, how come they are still in business. Kaplan helped a lot of people, made exams easier.... Good luck Juan  reddsantos@hotmail.com |

No. you are better off reading kaplan step 2 notes, swanson, WM(imp topics only), kaplan step 3 notes. Live lectures are not extensive enough but it helps you to orient. Kaplan is better for step 1 and 2. Good Luck.

I didn't take the Kaplan course and i passed the exam. I studied Kaplan Q bank, Kaplan Q book and Swanson. I studied for 4 months. Practice your CCS and try to familiarize yourself with the computer. God Bless.

NO. I just read Swanson's and passed. Save your money, but you can go ahead if you've lots of it.

I advise people very strongly not to take Step 3 lightly, it is taken by those looking for an H1-B visa. The reason is many internship programs require passing Step 3 for licensing and also for marticulating to the second year. It is expensive to sponsor someone who won't pass and then the hospital is left with a PGY-2 spot empty. You should put a good deal of time into studying for Step 3 and look at your practice scores. Also the good thing is Step 3 is pass fail, on the one hand you don't want a fail on the other hand no matter how well you do its Pass Fail, so you wont be stuck with a third low score.
